For two and a half months during the early part of World War II Death Valley National Monument played host to 65 men, women, and children escaping the threat of violence from fellow internees of the Manzanar War Relocation Center. They worked side by side with NPS staff and made life long friends. This is more than a WW II story and more than just an internees story, but a story of how we are all more alike than we are different.
